• It's Finally Finished!

STP63228

After what seems like quite an epic project, I have finally finished the short coat that I started in January. I found the pattern ages ago but then after deliberating over what yarn to use, waiting for it to arrive, actually getting round to knitting, then pulling it all out and starting again because it was too tight; it seems like it has taken ages!

The pattern is called Anise by Sarah Hatton, available for free here on Ravelry. I used the recommended yarn choice of Rowan Big Wool in the Linen shade. I really liked the textured design and was really pleased at how quick it was to knit up, as it uses extra chunky wool. My only reservations about the pattern are; that I had to adapt the length between the empire line and the armhole shaping as it was far too short, and also the coat knits up to fit too snuggly so I would recommend that you knit a larger size and perhaps two sizes up if you would like to be able to wear jumpers under it comfortably.

Other than that though I am happy with my coat and it is lovely and warm and cosy. Can't wait to wear it out tonight!
